I raised dobies for a while and I saw your ad in Dog Fancy Magazine and it sparked the fire again.

My father, Theodore M. Douglas gave me, Carlos, Hoytts Sultan as a birthday gift in 1960. Sultan was out of Hoytts Poco. I remember her because your father had me wipe my feet with a sponge in a tray and later he told me of how Poco had defended the kennel against a thief. I remember four scars across her face rising from her left side of her nose to the right side of her right eye. To this day I remember him telling me that a Dobes jaws had 750lb per square inch of pressure. I also remember when your father visited our home in Chicago to checkup on the status of our prize pooch. Sultan lived for thirteen years and I could tell you stories of his intelligence, gentleness and bravery. Each more fantastic than the other. I entered my name in the owners log. I hope you don't mind.

Barri, I have a beautiful red dobe(my third, his name is Optimus Prime. I got him from another breeder and his I think that his dad is one of your babies. His dad's name is Cherokee Mystic Warrior Doc Hoytt. I found your site while browsing and have loved all the pictures. My husband says that I cannot have 6 dogs at one time but I watch yours thru your site and I can just feel the love. Dobes are the best best fur babies. Thank you for your dedication to the breed.

I am anxiously awaiting a call from Mr. Hoyt to talk about his dobes and make a plan for welcoming one into our family. I met my first Hoyt dobe (Dude, I think was his name) in high school which was 17 or so years ago when I was working for a vet. When you see a Hoyt dobe it is hard to find words to describe such magnificent beauty. The reaction is jaw-dropping and awe-inspiring! I met Martha's second dobe from Hoyt a bit later in life. His name was Dutch. I would spend quite some time browsing the Hoyt website. I knew then and there that I hoped to have a Hoyt dobe of my own one day. That day is just around the corner. I cannot wait to talk to Mr. Hoyt and work out a plan so that we can soon be welcoming a Hoyt dobe into our hearts and our home!

I met my first Hoytt Dobe in Florida decades ago - I never forgot him. Years later, as a teenager, I crossed paths with my second Hoytt Dobe. Trotting alongside his owner, he exuded confidence and class, he was everything a dream Doberman should be. I smiled and said, "I'd know a Hoytt anywhere". The gentleman was beaming and stopped so I could admire and pet his dog. Yours are the finest dogs, it's apparent when you meet one the kind of love and expertise you put into them. They are exquisite, and I can't wait until the day I get to share my life with one!

Gorgeous dogs. We've had two dobes, and just lost our red girl in November at age 11 1/2.
Devastating, but some day we'll have another, most likely two next time.

Hey Barry,
Thanks for putting up an awesome picture of Titus and my youngest son Avery on your home page. Titus was just the best dog around kids and all the neighbor hood kids loved him. He is greatly missed but will never be forgotten. I will be calling you soon as there is too much love in this house to not let another guy/gal in our life.
