For us seniors
For the seniors among us
At what point in life do we consider ourselves seniors? For me turning 80 may be the answer, for sure I no longer look at my tomorrows in decades but in years. It’s been sixty-nine plus years since my folks gave me my first Dobe and since had a best pal at my side except for the first year in service.
Back in 09’ I became an X and looking back, this was perhaps my greatest error. Fortunately, my son forgave me and today I have two exceptional grand kids and a wonderful daughter-in-law. A bonus, my X still talks to me when I visit the family. But as a single I almost never feel alone for I have continually enjoyed the company of great Dobermans. As I write this its early in the AM and my London approaching nine is within touch distance, when I leave my office, London shadows me. While I also have a six-year-old boy named Caspian who with the baby of the group “Q” my 14-month-old are already settled for the night. Usually London reminds them its their bed time. Each has their own bed located each side of their master’s bed. Actually Cas will slip into my bed (he is a 100 pound cutler) the moment I retire with permission of course not before as long as my London does not give “the Eval eye” to him. “Q” never tries to get in bed - period. Actually “Q” even asks in quiet chirps at the bedroom door for permission from London to join us. “Q” is so understanding of her life’s rules, but do know she has been fully accepted by London and Caspian.
Why tell you this because these three are my sera get family. First as Dobermans of great intelligence selected by me for me in an overview, I may be single but I’m not alone. And that is in part the reason for this chapter. I am as Mr. Hoytt still active and enjoy a great team who keep me feeling important. And many aspects of my guys personality were also part of the original evaluations, down to even natural energy levels combined with their education. Now most weekends and later in the evenings it is my Dobes that bring me a sense of companionship as well as security once everyone heads to their homes.
Now I understand as a single the problems that the wrong canine can create including for us singles what happens to my Dobe if I can’t take care of them. Well, I totally understand and already have staff and client friends who one way or the other will see that my guys only end up with people I know and trust. For singles with pets, I know this is a major worry but when it comes to a Hoytt Doberman if you have given your friends or your attorney direction that if one day you cannot take care of your Hoytt Dobe for whatever reason – we are on stand-by to help. Twice in the last two years we received the call, a Chicago owner who had to still work after her husband passed felt it was unfair to her Dobe to go from two years of watching over dad literally 24/7 to now being alone 10 plus hours a day. The second re-home the owner had passed away. In both situations our driver team within hours of the calls were on their way to bring the kids to us, their first family. Both then hung out with me for a few days to confirm all was as presented and we then delivered the Dobes to their new homes. Homes that already were clients and had let us know if I felt their situation was right, they would welcome the new member.
The Chicago Dobe was three and went to Florida and the Carolina Dobe at five went to another Carolina client – know we also do not sell these older re-home kids but may charge something for bringing them to their new home if requested. Of course, over the years we have accepted monetary gifts which helps us cover these unplanned expenditures including refresher programs before they head to their new home, to do what we can to a second rehoming.
So if all is what we feel will work for a senior, consider your bringing a Hoytt Dobe home. Let me help you take lonesome out of your life. Choose the development program you can invest in and lonesome will no longer be part of your days. Take the time to complete your Client Profile, we will help bring smiles back into your life with the arrival of your new companion.
NOTE: WE DO NOT OFFER RETURNING HOYTT DOBES TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT ALREADY CLIENTS FOR WITHOUT A HISTORY AS A HOYTT OWNER A LETTER FROM YOUR HOUSE OF GOD OR YOUR VETERINARIAN IS ONLY CONSIDERED IF THOSE INDIVIDUALS LIVE WITH YOU…NO EXCEPTIONS.
